Fine jewelry is made from durable, strong materials by expert craftspeople, but it is not indestructible or maintenance free. Gold and Platinum will dent, scuff, gouge, bend or even crack over time from striking, banging, lifting objects, or even regularly gripping a steering wheel; small stones may loosen, chip, or fall out of their setting from accidental bumpings or due to debris that accumulates beneath stones combined with vibration from wear.

So, why not protect your investment?

Our extended service plans offer five-years of care and maintenance for your custom ring. Jewelry repairs covered under the Plan are described below. Without an extended service plan, cumulatively such repairs are expensive. With a plan, your jewelry remains as beautiful and worry free as the day you purchased it.

A Plan may only be purchased within 15 days of receiving your new ring, or at the same time as a ‘Back to Factory’ service performed in our studio. If you are outside of the 15 day window renewing a plan that has expired, your plan price will be based on the current value of your mounting (not the original purchase price), ensuring your coverage reflects today’s care and protection needs.

Terms & Conditions of Extended Service Plan Agreement:

  1. The Extended Service Plan (Plan) is a repair plan under which we (Krikawa) agree to furnish parts and labor necessary to maintain your jewelry in a useable and wearable condition, provided the jewelry is being worn in a normal and usual manner, and not subjected to unreasonable wear. We reserve the right to determine if jewelry is subjected to unreasonable wear, whether it may be satisfactorily repaired or if it should be replaced. Parts may be replaced with others of like kind and quality, in our discretion. We will notify you of fees for services and materials not covered by the Plan.
  2. Accent stones covered under the Plan are limited to a maximum size of 3.0 mm (largest measurement). Specialty cut accent stones are not covered under the Plan regardless of size. Inlaid materials such as jade, turquoise, onyx and mother of pearl are not covered under the Plan.
  3. The following applies to ring re-sizing: The Plan covers resizing up or down by two finger sizes. Krikawa determines the most appropriate method for resizing. The Plan covers up-sizing Mokume rings by inserting a plain strip of metal only. "Mokume Restoration" sizing, in which a liner bed is cut and mokume is inlaid for near seamless appearance, is not included in the Plan and additional charges apply. Eternity style rings are sized down by adding sizing balls or interrupting the pattern, depending upon style. Eternity style rings are sized up by inserting a plain piece of metal. Additional charges apply for more pattern specific sizing inserts.
  4. Jewelry must be sent to Krikawa for inspection annually to remain eligible for Plan services. It is your responsibility to send jewelry for maintenance. No reminders are sent. You may request a FedEx label to send jewelry to Krikawa and agree to pay all shipping charges.
  5. All maintenance/repairs shall be completed by Krikawa. The Plan is void if any non-Krikawa jeweler performs any work on jewelry beyond steam cleaning. If a non-Krikawa jeweler discovers loose or missing stones during steam cleaning, then you must return the jewelry to Krikawa for repair. If during in-take Krikawa notices repairs by a non-Krikawa jeweler, then all repairs will be performed at our current labor and materials rates.
  6. Valuation Letter will only be provided at the time of service (upon physical inspection of the jewelry) and will be emailed to you.
  7. The Plan covers only the specific jewelry for which the Plan was purchased and is not transferrable.
  8. Loss or damage resulting from failure to comply with recommended services and/or maintenance is not covered by this Plan. The Plan does not insure against loss, theft, excessive damage, misuse, abuse, or Acts of God.  The Plan does not cover damage to or replacement of center stones, specialty cut accent stones, or any stone larger than 3.0 mm in size (largest measurement). THIS PLAN DOES NOT REPLACE CASUALTY INSURANCE COVERAGE. ASK YOUR INSURANCE AGENT FOR DETAILS ON COVERING FOR YOUR JEWELRY.
  9. You may cancel within the 15 days after Plan purchase date only if no services have been performed under the Plan. Upon cancellation, you will receive a refund minus the retail value of the cleaning kit and Plan is void. More than 15 days after Plan purchase, no refund upon cancellation.
  10. Our total liability under the Plan, for all services, is the purchase price paid for the jewelry as shown on the original invoice, notwithstanding the type of loss or damage, or whether the claim is based on contract, tort or equity. IN NO EVENT SHALL KRIKAWA BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, NO MATTER WHAT THE CAUSE, INCLUDING DELAY IN RENDERING SERVICE OR LOSS OF USE DURING THE PERIOD THAT JEWELRY IS BEING REPAIRED OR AWAITING PARTS. SERVICES AND PARTS PROVIDED UNDER THE PLAN ARE PROVIDED WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR WARRANTY OF FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
  11. Krikawa's entire agreement is governed by the written Plan agreement. No oral representations, promises or conditions not contained in the written Plan agreement shall be valid to modify or limit the Plan agreement. Written modifications are only valid if signed by Krikawa's legal counsel.
  12. The terms of the Plan are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to conflict of laws principles. Any claim, demand, or suit pursuant to the Plan or Krikawa's services and offerings hereunder shall be brought in and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the courts located in Pima County, Arizona.

Q: What is the Extended Service Plan?

The Extended Service Plan is a five-year care package for your Krikawa jewelry. It covers inspections, cleanings, refinishing, resizing, and many common repairs, helping your piece look and feel like new for years to come.

Q: How much does an Extended Service Plan cost?

Classic Plan (plain precious metal rings): $300

Premium Plan (diamond/gemstone rings under $5,000): $450

Luxury Plan (diamond/gemstone rings $5,000+ and all non-ring jewelry): $650

Q: When can I purchase a Plan?

You can purchase a Plan within 15 days of receiving your new ring, or at the same time as a “Back to Factory” service performed in our studio.

Q: I’ve had my ring more than a month—can I still buy a Plan?

Normally, Plans can only be purchased within 15 days of receiving your new ring. However, if you'd like to purchase a Plan after this time, you'll need to send your ring in for a “Back to Factory” service and then you’ll have the option to add an Extended Service Plan at that time. This way your ring is restored to like-new condition before coverage begins. The price of the "Back to Factory" service is quoted at the time of inspection and based on the individual piece.

Q: Can I get a refund on my Extended Service Plan?

If you change your mind, you can cancel your Plan within 15 days of purchase, as long as no services have been used. We’ll provide a refund, less the retail value of the cleaning kit you received. After 15 days, Plans are considered active and non-refundable, since coverage and benefits begin right away.

Q: What kinds of repairs are included?

Coverage depends on your plan level, but may include refinishing, rhodium plating, mokume refreshing, band repair, stone tightening, accent stone replacement (3mm and smaller), prong re-tipping, clasp replacement, and one resizing. Each plan also includes professional cleaning and an annual valuation letter.

Q: What isn’t covered under the Plan?

The Plan doesn’t cover loss, theft, misuse, excessive damage, or repairs by another jeweler. It also excludes center stones, specialty cut stones, and accent stones larger than 3mm. For those situations, we recommend jewelry insurance through your insurer.

Q: What if I don't use my Plan?

Even if your jewelry looks perfect, that doesn’t mean it’s free from wear. Just like you wouldn’t drive your car for five years without an oil change, your jewelry needs routine check-ups. Annual inspections and cleanings catch small issues—like loose stones or thinning prongs—before they turn into costly repairs. Your Plan isn’t just about fixing problems, it’s about keeping your piece in peak condition for the long run.

Q: How do I keep my Plan active?

To stay eligible, your jewelry must come back to our studio for service once a year. You’ll cover the shipping costs, and we’ll take care of the inspection and maintenance.

Q: My Plan expired or became inactive—can I renew or start a new one?

You may purchase a new five-year Plan within 15 days of the term ending date. If outside of this window, then you will need to send the ring in for a “Back to Factory” service. Once the piece is restored to like-new condition, you’ll have the option to purchase a new Extended Service Plan to cover it moving forward. 

Renewal pricing is based on the current value of your mounting, not the original purchase price, so your coverage reflects today’s repair and care costs. Why it works this way: Jewelry materials and labor costs change over time, and pricing your plan on the current value ensures we can continue providing the same high-quality service and protection for your piece.

Q: Can I transfer my Plan to another piece of jewelry?

No. Each Plan applies only to the specific piece of jewelry it was purchased for.

Q: Is this the same as jewelry insurance?

No. The Plan covers maintenance and repair from normal wear and tear—it doesn’t replace casualty insurance. For loss, theft, or accidental damage, we recommend adding jewelry insurance to your homeowner’s or renter’s policy.

Q: Do I really need an Extended Service Plan?

It's up to you, but we certainly recommend it! Fine jewelry is durable, yet it isn’t indestructible. Daily wear can loosen stones, wear down prongs, or cause bands to thin. The Plan gives you peace of mind that your ring will be cared for, polished, and repaired as needed without surprise repair bills.
