GREEN GOLD

Unique Eternity Vine and Leaf Wedding Band

Green gold is a very pale yellowish sage color. Indeed, the greenish hue is quite subtle and many people may describe green gold as "straw yellow". Despite being subtle, green gold becomes more noticeable when matched with yellow, rose, or white gold.

We offer 10k, 14k, and 18k green gold. Green gold is a mixture of pure gold and silver, with other trace materials. The higher the karatage, the more gold content. In other words:

10k green gold is 10 parts gold (42% gold);
14k green gold is 14 parts gold (58% gold); and
18k green gold is 18 parts gold (75% gold).

Historical Trivia

In 862 BC, the Lydians, an Iron Age kingdom in present-day Turkey, were using coins made of electrum. This naturally occurring gold-silver alloy consisted of 73% gold and 27% silver.

Green Gold from Krikawa

Delicate Lead Engagement Ring with Daisy Bezel and Green GoldWe most commonly use green gold in Winter mokume gane, but have also handcrafted some engagement rings in green gold. We have determined that 10 karat green gold appears more yellowish sage color. Both 14k green gold and 18k green gold look more yellow than sage.
